Welcome to the World, Babies!
My daughters have been alive on this earth for nearly 4 months now, and as you can imagine, life has been at its most beautiful, hectic, terrifying and wonderful. We’ve mailed out their official birth announcements, but here’s a quick anchorwife birth announcement. And when I have enough time to complete the writing of their birth story, that will be posted, too.
Adelaide (“Addie”) Rose
Born October 10, 2013 at 9:22pm.
She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19 inches long.
Lorelei (“Ellie”) Grace
Born October 10, 2013 at 9:23pm.
She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.
P.S. Lorelei is pronounced “Lore-el-eye,” like on the Gilmore girls. None of this “Lore-el-lee” or “Lore-el-lay” business.
Now I’m sure the first thought in your mind after how cute they are (of course!) is “Holy smokes! What big babies!”
Yes. You are right to think that. They were big even for singletons (what we mothers of multiples call a single, normal, pregnancy and labor involving one baby). We were very blessed that they were so large and healthy. We didn’t have any issues or need to spend any time in the NICU. More on all that later.
As for now, I must go change one of them. Not sure who, but someone just sharted.
